On The Job

Noah VanTil serves a long line of coffee lovers on Friday afternoon, April 23rd, 2021. VanTil has worked at Dutch Brother's Coffee since starting school at OSU fall of 2020. He loves the social nature of his job, all the people he gets to meet, and his fun-loving coworkers. Kevin McLellan, owner of McLellan Temporaries, popped into his office on SW Washington Ave to sign paychecks on Thursday, April 22rd, 2021. McLellan grew up with older siblings and "had too many bosses" growing up. Now, he loves being his own boss. McLellan enjoys the freedom his job allows, as well as all the interesting people he meets on the job.

Beating the Heat at Squirrels

   Squirrel's Tavern on Monroe and 2nd street in downtown, Corvallis, recently opened back up for dine-in service. Sunday, April 18th, recently married regulars, Stephen Odor and AnnaMaria Meyer,  recall the night they met during dinner at Squirrel's. AnnaMaria Meyer shows off her "party trick" which impressed Stephen Odor with on the night they met. Socially distanced Squirell's Tavern, in downtown Corvallis, opens its doors to sun-soaked patrons on April 18th, 2021.

Corvallis Indoor Farmers Market

Corvallis Indoor Farmers Market at the Corvallis fairgrounds on Saturday, April 10th. Cheryl and Tom Christner shop veggies at  Gathering Together Farms, noting "the best greens they've ever seen." The Christners recently moved to Oregon from New Hampshire and love Oregon's produce. A basket of Hedgehog mushrooms sold at The Mushroomery, a mushroom product business based out of Lebanon, Oregon.   Jen Macone, an owner of The Mushroomery, explains mushroom stump care to a satisfied customer. Figuring out Photojournalism

 Hello! I'm Sadie Beam (she/them)! Me matching with my smoothie I was born in Corvallis in April, 1990. I grew up with 2 biological brothers, and 2 non biological brothers in a small house on 12th street.  After high school, I moved to Portland Oregon to attend East West College of natural healing to become a LMT (licensed massage therapist). After working in Portland as a massage therapist for about 10 years, I now feel ready for the next phase of my career. I am loosely planning on pursuing a career in Art Therapy. I am currently waffling between majoring in psychology and women's studies, or arts, media and technology. Naturally, photojournalism was appealing as it is both a study on people as well as artistic expression. In my spare time I enjoy learning about fungi and hiking (mostly just to find more fungi). I am a huge fan of most things DIY and love acquiring new skills. I am the kind of person who has a dozen projects going on at any given time. I love learning through
